Abemba (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a fintech platform that provides financial services in Burundi, including accounts, cards, and apps for clients, merchants, and agents.

Clients: When a client registers for an account with us, we collect personal information such as their name and address in person, and identification card number.

Merchants: When a merchant registers with us, we collect their business information such as business name, address, and contact if they already have an account. If they don’t have an account, we also collect personal identifiable information, including their first and last name, address, and preferred language.

Agents: When an agent registers with us, we collect their personal information such as their name and address.

Use of information

We use personal information we collect to provide our financial services, including to:

  • Issue and manage accounts and cards
  • Process transactions and payments
  • Provide support and customer service
  • Improve and develop our services
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements
